An unusual hotel for extraordinary people

With its fantastic interior design and global influences, Los Enamorados offers the very latest take on trends and the hospitality industry! In the north of this beautiful island, this boutique hotel is home to a unique concept store in which everything is for sale! If Pierre had just two words to describe his hotel, he’d choose “different” and “inventive”!

In terms of interior design, rooms are filled from floor to ceiling with the colours and materials of contemporary designs and vintage styles. Some pieces have a slightly bohemian style, others have a designer feel; most are unusual but they’re all part of a stylish, eclectic collection! And what’s more (and even better!), the hotel is home to plenty of Fermob furniture!

For Pierre, Fermob style is all about having pieces where you want them and how you want them!

Fermob furniture certainly makes itself right at home in Pierre’s hotel. It fits in perfectly alongside signed artwork and original, unique pieces. Fermob furniture is everywhere, both indoors and outdoors, providing incredible comfort for everyone (including Pierre, who’s a firm believer in the importance of being comfortable!). Originally from Paris, Pierre first fell in love with Fermob furniture in the capital’s Luxembourg Gardens!

The garden’s chairs, combining the practical with the pleasing, were the ultimate furniture for him; he associates them with the small joys of sitting down “with a book or taking a seat by a basketball court.” “These styles adapt to any contemporary or vintage setting. “I love the colours, the models, the incredible diversity and the ability to play with the surroundings, without having to own the entire collection.”

To be stylish, you need to be inspired!

If you ask Pierre (a Parisian through and through) why he chose Ibiza, he’ll explain that his first visits were just an opportunity “to explore the Balearics: I wanted to have a truly relaxing weekend before returning to Paris”. “The island’s simplicity, diversity, welcoming feel and climate” won him over. His hype yet hippy personality and his love of music did the rest. The island’s charm led to a dramatic decision: he decided to move to Ibiza. “Not as a hippy 2.0, but as someone who loves life and wants to enjoy and take care of this place.”

Having fallen in love with a 400-year-old house with incredible potential, Pierre moved in and embarked on the adventure of creating Los Enamorados. What does he want? To leave a lasting impression, to make his mark.

Trends around the world

With his tactical talent, forged by his past as a professional basketball player, and a passion for uncovering the latest trends, Pierre has become a kind of “intuitive aesthete” over the last ten years. Inspired by his very own muse, he’s developed his aesthetic style over time and on his travels.

With an eye for details which make all the difference and a focus on total harmony, he’s travelled all over the world in the last 10 years to find some incredibly surprising pieces which decorate this place by telling a story and creating an emotion.

With a surprising interior design and a surprising concept, this hotel stands out for the way in which it offers its guests a genuine way of life. The only rules? “No kids, no animals, no drugs and no Candy Crush addicts.” Los Enamorados has an on-trend, relaxed feel; guests are encouraged to “feel at home” in this friendly place, while forgetting about the stresses of everyday life. He likes guests “to spend their time in the northern bay, trying stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking or diving” rather than staring at their phones. If you’re wondering if this place is real, rest assured: it definitely exists!

In any case, we were thrilled to spend 4 days in this heavenly hotel; Pierre is an infinitely welcoming and generous host. (Thanks Pierre, we’ll be back!)

An American beauty? Not at all: just a #FERMOBPEOPLE with an oh-so-British style we love!

When Patrick turned up for the #FERMOBPEOPLE casting call, we were immediately struck by his elegant and casual style – and we couldn’t resist. An unusual, romantic, ever so slightly brash and incredibly inspired place: we made our way to Eure-et-Loir for this first #FERMOBPEOPLE report, along with an enthusiastic photographer and a stylist who struggled to wake up! We couldn’t wait to find out more about this #FERMOBPEOPLE and his incredible Fermob attitude.

A very stylish cup of tea, outdoors!

A landscaped terrace, a flourishing vegetable patch and a magnificent garden in full bloom: this beautiful spot is the perfect place for dandy Patrick to revel in his magnificent originality.

With charisma and character, Patrick has bags of personality: he’s not like anyone else and he knows it! His answer, when asked about design must-haves? “Comfort, first and foremost!” In his opinion, the ultimate mistake would be to refuse to embrace his “bad taste”. The interior design piece he believes everyone should have? “A painting which you never get tired of and which creates an emotional reaction whenever you look at it.” His favourite phrase? “Tomorrow is another day.”

A colourful image and a taste for a harmonious style above all else:

this British-inspired dandy spent his life in the Parisian worlds of luxury and haute couture before he suddenly decided that he’d had enough of the capital: “I wanted another kind of life, I’d had enough of the futility of the profession which had been my entire career”. He moved to the countryside where he adopted hens, donkeys and dogs. His good taste and sophistication followed him to his new home, of course; but this new home was a way to express his craving for the simple life, his desire to live differently. Far from the creative world he left behind, this aesthete slowly adapted: he gave up the sacrosanct catwalk shows for real animals and abandoned the frenetic pace of collection launches for the gentle joy of living in tune with the seasons.

Beyond its mere appearance, Patrick’s house reflects the unique journey of a larger-than-life character. It tells the story of a life well lived, filled with incredible experiences and amazing successes. There’s a definite sense of joie de vivre which threads its way through Patrick’s flower-filled garden, with his Fermob furniture and his pets.

To decorate or not to decorate? That is the question!

The property’s interior design combines memories of past travels, favourite pieces from all over, family heirlooms and items which this dandy has picked up in various places. From “ten-a-penny” pieces to valuable artwork, they’re all arranged, juxtaposed, positioned and brought together for a perfectly balanced look, both indoors and outdoors. Utterly captivating! “There’s no particular style,” Patrick says. We think that the combinations of styles, furniture, colours, materials, eras and trends create a beautiful sense of harmony!

The scene is set: it’s all about harmony, from the furniture he loves (great stuff: there’s Fermob furniture too!) to his new-found enthusiasm for gardening and the joy of caring for the animals he loves so much, not forgetting the perfect harmony of his friends as they sit down at his table for a meal: the most important part of this new life. There’s a real sense of nonchalance throughout the house: a perfect fit and an echo of the genuine personality he’s been able to express here. There’s quite a paradox, given his obvious extroverted side, developed over the years in his people-centric job, and the delicate, discreet side to his personality today. Together, it’s a real mixture of beautiful aesthetics, English finesse, natural appeal and elegant simplicity.

We have to say that we were bowled over by Patrick’s quirky personality which is just so #FERMOBPEOPLE! We want to thank Patrick for welcoming us so kindly (and with such a great sense of humour): we’ll never forget the unsteady bench (c.f. the stylist who struggled to wake up…) and the crash landing into the pond! Big up!

A BRAND, A HISTORY AND A FINE FUTURE

“Besides being close geographically, there are many other similarities between the history of Fermob and that of my cooking. First, because in our respective businesses, we strive to defend a heritage, a culture, and art de vivre. Secondly, we’re both heirs of a craft which we are proud of and which we use every day to reinvent our trade.

On the one hand, Bistro chairs, and on the other Poulet de Bresse with confit of garlic. On the one hand, renowned designers, on the other talented young chefs. Our futures also seem promising.

And lastly, I didn’t think that the terraces of my restaurants could so embody movement in this ever-changing modernity that I am so fond of.”

I wanted my terrace, like my cooking, to represent modern French art de vivre.

FERMOB AND MICKEY MOUSE HAVE MORE THAN JUST A COLLECTION IN COMMON.

Disney has partnered with Fermob to design a collection to mark Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday – a partnership that is selfevident and magical in equal measure. Self-evident because the world’s most famous mouse and the French outdoor furniture brand have two things in common – a taste for joie de vivre and a passion for colour.

ONCE UPON A TIME…

Disney wanted us to do something creative with this new product, not simply put together a collection with images of Mickey Mouse on it. We’re manufacturers with a penchant for design, so this project was right up our alley!

The partnership also proved to be the perfect match when it came to values and image, too. Mickey Mouse embodies joie de vivre, Fermob’s most important value.

We also share a passion for colour. We’ve all seen that famous image of Walt Disney putting crayon to paper and giving life to characters that would go on to enchant entire generations the world over. And at Fermob, we were the inventor of colour in the garden, breaking with conventional green and white furniture.

Mickey Mouse is a timeless character recognised by an incredible 98% of people around the world. He has been making his mark on hearts and minds for 90 years. TOTAL CREATIVE FREEDOM

Back in spring 2017, Fermob’s design studio had just a few months left to pitch its ideas to Disney.

The brief stipulated two requirements: don’t design products specifically aimed at children, and be economical with the brands’ respective identities. Other than that, we had total creative freedom. As a designer, that’s a really exciting prospect!

At that point in time, the team had an open mind, considering every item in Fermob’s product range – from furniture to accessories and lighting. But the creative concept was set in stone from the outset: to design something figurative rather than simply reproducing Mickey Mouse.

Disney’s teams were delighted with the proposals from Fermob’s design studio.

DOUBLING OVER WITH HELLO ! LAUGHTER !

The Bistro chair features Mickey Mouse’s trademark ears and short pants. And when it’s folded away, you can clearly see the slender paws from the original Mickey design.

The chair is available in a larger version for adults and an oh-so-cute mini version for little ones.

LOOKING GREAT NO MATTER WHAT

This exclusive Fermob collection includes a lamp with that, a few tweaks is unmistakably Mickey!
The dual-purpose yellow base serves as a charger and includes a command function so the product can be used as a child’s (or adult’s!) bedside table lamp. Sweet dreams guaranteed!

A MAGICAL ACCESSORY

Completing the collection is a trivet with three perfect circles, echoing the shape of the famous Mickey Mouse logo. It’s 100% metal, 100% made in France, and a great way to bring the iconic character to any table.

Leona Rose draws inspiration from her travels, and dreams of painting all over the world.

Leona Rose is a young contemporary artist. Born in the south of France, she studied at the Beaux-Arts de Paris school of fine arts. Her Rotring and Posca pens create crazy, colorful jungles, inhabited by feathered animals in a flamboyant world, full of colors and touches that pop. She has worked on a number of interior design and branding projects, as well as producing illustrations on various media (frescoes, furniture, clothing, everyday items, etc.), in each case following her tastes and inspirations. As a socially conscious, peoplefocused artist, she has set up various participatory humanitarian projects with charities and NGOs.
